Crescent Moon Over Nubble Lighthouse
There are nights when everything slows down long enough for you to really feel a place. This was one of those nights for me at Nubble Lighthouse in York, Maine. The air was still, the sky was settling into deep indigo, and just as the crescent moon began to rise, the lighthouse cast its warm red glow across the water. I remember standing there, completely quiet, taking in the contrast of darkness, moonlight, and that little beacon of warmth.
I wanted to capture the feeling of that moment. Not just what it looked like, but what it felt like to stand by the water with the sound of the tide and the night wrapping around everything. This image reminds me of calm, of reflection, and of the comfort that comes from lighthouses: that sense of guidance and steady light, even in the dark.
If you’re someone who finds peace in the ocean, the night sky, or those small moments of stillness that ground you, I hope this piece brings that same sense of calm into your home. Every time you pass it, I want it to feel like a breath you didn’t realize you needed.
